Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  We want to thank many of you who sent in special gifts for our family for Christmas.  Your gifts were greatly appreciated and we had a wonderful time celebrating the birth of Christ with both our family and church family here in Peru.

Anniversary Services: 
January 28-February 1, we held an evangelistic conference to celebrate the 16th anniversary of our church.  Pastor Samuel Huamán of Peniel Baptist Church in Ilo was our special speaker.  We concluded with a banquet on Sunday night.  The Lord blessed throughout the conference, and we were excited to see several first-time visitors.  It was a blessing to see many people serving and getting involved in different ways.  Please pray that the Lord wouldcontinue to use our church, Calvary Baptist, to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

2 Baptisms:
Sunday, February 1, I had the privilege of baptizing Isaías and Monica during our anniversary service.  Please pray for both of their families.  Isaías’s wife attends our church, but has not yet accepted Christ.  Also his twin 20-year old sons and younger son need to be saved.  Monica is a single mom of four children and could use your prayers for the spiritual well-being of her children.

Praise!
We had a lady named Juliana visit our church several weeks ago.  Her aunt had been witnessing to her and encouraging her to go to church.  Her first service with us, she accepted Christ as Savior.  Please pray for her spiritual growth.

Vacation Bible School:
During the month of February we were very busy holding 3 different weeks of VBS.  We held one at the park across from our church, and 2 more in the areas where we hold Saturday afternoon Bible clubs during the school year.  Much preparation goes into a time like this, and it was a blessing again to see many people getting involved and serving in this ministry. We had Bible lessons, a missionary story, games, refreshments, crafts, and a memory verse, all with the theme of “Bible Detectives.”  We were able to minister to around 260 different children, all of whom heard a clear presentation of the Gospel.  Please pray that the Lord would use the seeds planted in the hearts of the children and parents present.  At the beginning of March, we will be continuing to minister to these children through weekly Bible clubs.

Vehicle:  
We were able to sell our car this month.  Please pray with us that we might be able to find something reliable and affordable soon!

New Church Plant:
Sunday, March 1, la Iglesia Bautista Gracia (Grace Baptist Church) will be holding its first service here in Tacna.  Please be praying for Pastor Willy Pari, his wife Roxana, and their daughter Estrella as they labor in this new work.  Also please pray for Roxana as she is expecting a baby this summer and is having some complications.  Any gift toward this new church plant can be sent to our account through Macedonia, marked, “New Church Plant.”  Thank you for your prayers and support for this new work!
