Thursday Evening Bible Study
We have seen a consistent attendance of people who do not normally attend our church. It has been my desire to present the Gospel to them in a clear way. I have shared lessons on Nicodemus, “The New Birth,” and the characteristics of a true Christian out of I John 5. Please pray that the Lord would continue to speak to hearts and help them realize their need of a Savior. Thank you for praying for Libia. She came back to the meeting this past week for the first time in a while. Her daughter, Cinthia, however, has been very faithful to attend each week for the past 2 months. Pray that the Lord would open the hearts of this family in a special way.
Salvation Story:
About a month ago, a man in our church, Luis, spoke to me about his neighbor. He told me she was very sick and did not have long to live. On Thursday, August 1, I was able to go with Luis and his wife to witness to this dying lady, named Orieta. She listened very intently and the Holy Spirit helped me to clearly share the plan of salvation with her. That same hour, she trusted Christ as her Lord and Savior (Acts 16:31). Orieta was a Catholic and very religious, but that day she entered into a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Just 13 days later, she went home to be with the Lord. Praise God that the Gospel arrived in time for this dear lady to be saved!
Land Project Update:
We have recently spoken with the owner of the land we wish to purchase for the church, and it is still available. We found out since our last update, that our church will not be eligible to receive a loan from the bank. For this reason we are praying that the Lord would lay it on the hearts of God’s people to help by both praying and giving. $80,000 seems like a lot of money, but we know that nothing is impossible for out great God! Would you please consider helping in this endeavor by first praying and also giving?
Family Update:
We recently found out that Sara is expecting our 5th child in late January, and it looks like another boy! Please pray for strength for Sara as she carries the baby and for wisdom as we make decisions about where to go for the birth. We are excited about the new addition to our family!
Prayer Requests:
-Our residence visas to be approved
-Wisdom and provision for New Land Project
-Health and safety for Sara and the new baby
-Thursday Evening Bible Study
-Salvation of: Libia, Cinthia, Elisabeth, and Carla
We thank the Lord for His goodness and are grateful for the part that you have in our ministry. Please continue to pray for us that God would give us victory over the devil and the wisdom to make decisions according to His will.
Your servants for Christ,
Robert, Sara, Josiah, Caleb, Joshua, & Lydia Stover
