Greetings in the precious name of our Resurrected Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! In Ephesians 6:17, the Bible says to take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. This is the only weapon that God has given us to use against Satan. It is necessary to use it well and to allow the Holy Spirit to train us to be good soldiers of Jesus Christ. Please pray with us that God would raise up an army of men and women here in Peru who are skillful swordsmen of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Visits from Family
We were blessed to have Robert’s parents and brother visit for 2 weeks in February and March. The children really enjoyed seeing Nana, Grandpa, and Uncle David. We appreciate the helpful messages and teachings that Rob’s parents gave while here. Currently, we are enjoying a great visit with Sara’s mom. It would be our pleasure to host you or your church group on a future missions trip. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
Salvation Decisions
On Resurrection Sunday, Isaias’s son, Rudy, made a profession of faith. Praise the Lord! He currently lives in a city about 2 hours away, but there is a church of like faith there that is attempting to help him with his spiritual growth. We also praise the Lord for the salvation of a young lady named Lloreli, and Kurt and Mihjael (teenage sons of Oscar and Natasha). We are planning a baptism service for Sunday, May 3rd. Please pray for the young Christians who are following Christ in believer’s baptism.
Trip to Arequipa
April 9-11, our entire family was able to make a trip to Arequipa to teach a 2-day study on the family. Sara did a great job teaching the ladies, and I was privileged to teach the men of the church. It was a blessing to teach some of the Bible principles we have learned and also to fellowship with Pastor Carlos Collantes and the people of Miraflores Baptist Church. (These are the people that we worked with during our time in Arequipa.)
Grace Baptist Church
Please continue to pray for Pastor Willy Pari and the new church plant. They held their first service March 1, and in the evening service a young lady trusted Christ. Our church has had the opportunity to help them knock doors and witness in the area on several occasions and recently were able to visit with them for a Thursday evening service. Thank you for your prayers for the new work.
Prayer Requests:
-Please pray that Sara’s and the children’s visas would be obtained soon.
-Please pray for upcoming church events for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, and also as we prepare for our Missions Conference in June.
-Please pray for health and safety for our family. We appreciate those who have been praying for us in this manner. In March, we were in a pretty bad car accident, and yet God protected each of us, and we are so thankful to Him!
Thank you for your prayers for and generous giving to the Lord’s work here in Peru. The power of prayer is so necessary as we battle against the world, the flesh, and the devil.
In the love of Christ,
Robert, Sara, Josiah, Caleb, Joshua, Lydia, and Zachary Stover
