Project Jerusalem:
We have seen good participation from church members who come out to visit on Saturday mornings. We have the city divided into different zones with the goal of knocking every door to reach “our Jerusalem.” As a result of this ministry, we were able to have a special family day activity on June 8th in the area where we have been visiting. This day involved activities, games, and a Bible lesson. The Lord has given us the opportunity to continue holding a weekly Bible club for the children there. We appreciate your prayers for the Lord’s protection. At the beginning of May, the night before our new visitation program was to begin, someone broke into our house and stole our TV. Thank the Lord we slept through the whole thing, and God kept us safe. We know that Satan does not like what we are doing, but we are excited and praying for fruit from this ministry.
Bible Study:
The Lord has blessed our Thursday evening Bible study with 6 or more adults from the area and several children. Some of the folks have visited the church for special meetings, including a lady named Libia. She asked for a Bible, and we were able to give her one. Please pray that God’s Word would convict her of her need of salvation.
Missions Conference:
June 19-23 we had a Missions Conference at the church. Percy Lopez who is starting a church in Juliaca, Peru, came to preach for us. Also, we were able to have a conversation via Skype with Missionary Vicente Garcia who is doing a great work for the Lord in Burkina Faso, Africa. It was a real challenge for our people, many of whom have never travelled outside of Peru, to see someone serving on the other side of the world. We are planning to begin supporting these two missionaries monthly. Please pray that God would continue to enlarge our vision individually as well as collectively as a church.
Visa Update:
Our first applications for residence visas were rejected due to stricter policies. We have sent in our second attempt. Please pray that they would be approved soon!
New Property:
For some time now, it has been our desire to start a Christian school. The only “Christian” schools in our city are run by Seventh-Day Adventists and Pentecostals. The state schools are even worse with humanism and secularism being taught and children required to attend by age 3. Our current building lacks space for a school and there is no available property around us. Land prices are rising here due to businesses moving in. Please pray with us for wisdom and the Lord’s provision as we look at several possibilities. We would love to be able to purchase enough land for a school as well as a new church building with room to grow. If you have any questions about this, please contact me at 330-238-4944 or rstover22@yahoo.com. Any gift toward this need can be marked, “Stover Building Fund” and sent to MWBM, P.O. Box 519, Braselton, GA 30517.
It is a blessing to report on all that the Lord is doing here in Tacna, Peru. Thank you so much for your continued prayers!
Thank you for co-laboring with us,
