Dear Prayer Partners,
Greetings once again in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We rejoice in the opportunity to write to you at this glorious Christmas season. How wonderful it is to know that the Christ-child was not only born, but also lived, died, was resurrected from the grave, and is now sitting on the right hand of the throne of God in Heaven. We find in Luke 2:10 the words of the angel, “Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be
to all people.” To all people – what a concept! This was not only speaking of Jews and English-speaking Americans, but also of Spanish-speaking Peruvians and of every other race and cultural group known to mankind.
We had a blessed Thanksgiving with my family in Ohio. It is fantastic to get together with those that you love so much. My wife and I had the opportunity to have an early Thanksgiving in North Carolina in October (the more the better, right?). It is such a blessing to now be married and to be a part of two wonderful families. We look forward to spending time with each of our families this Christmas season. These are special times that we will treasure in our hearts during the years when we will be unable to be physically present here with family and friends.
We are very thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to serve Him in Peru in the very near future. The Lord continues to increase our financial support, and we are now at the 45% level. Please pray for us that we would have 50% of our support by the end of this year. God has brought us along so faithfully that I cannot but think of the words of I Thessalonians 5:24, “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.”
Please pray that the Lord would continue to give us favor with churches and pastors and that we would be able to have our support raised by September of 2007. Also, please be especially praying for us to see our schedule filled with meetings for this coming year. I was recently reading in Acts 18, when verse 28 caught my eye. It speaks of Apollos being able to use the Scriptures powerfully to share Christ. I would ask that you would pray for me to have power in the Scriptures to convince people of Christ and for the filling of the Holy Spirit when preaching.
The college semester is complete, and Sara would like to thank you for your prayers for her. She only has her student teaching left to complete. Please continue to pray for strength for her as she nears graduation day in May.
May the Lord richly bless you and your family during this joyous Christmas season and give you a new year full of His richest blessings!
Serving the New Born King,
Robert and Sara Stover
